Learning from the past

NESA is thrilled to partner with this lovely museum for the first time in 2025/2026. Open to members of NESA, this show encourages artists to reflect on their personal backgrounds in addition to larger histories of craft, politics, and identity. Learning from the Past situates contemporary sculpture within artistic practices ranging from ancient periods to those in recent memory. Featuring the work of artists from the New England region, New England Sculpture Association at the MATT: Learning from the Past is a celebration of the past, present, and future of sculpture. The exhibition will be juried by the museum staff. Three awards will be given including “Best in Show”

NESA is thrilled to partner with the Rockport Art Association & Museum to create an indoor and outdoor exhibition this fall. The Rockport Art Association & Museum celebrates over 100 years in existence, and it continues to be one of Cape Ann’s most prominent cultural beacons. Since its founding, the Association has steadily increased in size and currently includes over 300 artist & photography members and hundreds of contributing members. Each year, the RAA&M hangs over 40 diverse exhibitions and offers a variety of educational programs including workshops, children’s classes, artist demonstrations, gallery talks, and artist lectures.

The exhibition was juried by Jill Harrison, owner of the Threadneedle Gallery in Newburyport.

Flying Horse Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit

Since 2010, the Flying Horse Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit has brought inspiring works of art to Pingree School, transforming the 100-acre campus into a dynamic open-air gallery. Featuring artists from near and far, this annual exhibit is one of the largest outdoor art displays in the region—and the only one of its kind in the country hosted by a school.

WASHINGTON, CT - The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens is thrilled to begin its 2025 season of art exhibits with a dual showcase by painter Doug Bloom and sculptor Justin Perlman. Their show, “Contrast,” will be on view beginning Friday, March 14. An opening reception will be held on Sunday, March 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. The exhibit will be on view through Sunday, April 6. ValleyCAST welcomes back the New England Sculptors Association to bring another unique exhibit inside the gallery,

out on the Community Plaza, and around the grounds of the Alternatives’ Whitin Mill Complex. Prizes for favorites will

be awarded by people’s choice. Come explore the grounds and the gallery to see over thirty amazing sculpture and then

vote for your favorites “Inside and Out” by casting a ballot inside the gallery! This event is free and open to the public.

Opening Reception & Curator’s Choice Award: Sunday, January 5, 2025 from 2:00-4:00pm

Closing Reception & People’s Choice Awards: Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 2:00-4:00pm

Regular gallery hours for this exhibit are Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 4:00pm.

Visits outside of regular gallery hours are by appointment only by contacting cristi.collari@openskycs.org

Voting ends on February 14, 2025. Exhibit ends after the closing reception on February 23, 2025.

The New England Sculptors Association exhibition at the Piano Craft Gallery is a juried prize show and will feature 25 outstanding works by NESA members. NESA artists will showcase a variety of sculptural forms created in multiple medias. The Gallery provides a free, handicapped accessible venue in Boston where people can enjoy and learn about the diversity of art-making and performing in the Greater Boston area. The exhibition is juried by Christine O'Donnell from the Beacon Gallery and ShowUp, and is curated by Kamal Ahmad.
